Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Adventure Sweepstakes Official Rules

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
The Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Adventure Sweepstakes begins at 1:00 p.m. on April 10, 2002.

2. ELIGIBILITY
Open only to legal residents of the continental United States excluding Puerto Rico and those states prohibited or restricted by applicable federal and state laws or regulations. Entrants must be 21 years of age or older as of April 10, 2002. Online entrants must have internet access prior to April 10, 2002 and must be present in the United States at the time they enter the sweepstakes.

3. PRIZES
The grand prize winner will receive an Algonquin Log Cabin Weekend for two valued at approximately $US 2,200. The secondary prize winner will receive a Limited Edition Giclée Reproduction Print on Canvas, titled "Last Light", with an approximate retail price of $635.00 (includes ready to hang framing). Three (3) third place winners will each receive a prize package consisting of the following items from Roots Canada: 1 x cotton sweat shirt, 1 x baseball hat, 1 x keychain, 1 x sports watch. (each package valued at approximately $ US 100)

The grand prize winner, the second prize winner and three (3) third prize winners will be selected, and be notified by mail. Winners will be selected in a random draw on or about June 20, 2002 by representatives of Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership, "The Sponsor" whose decisions concerning all matters related to this sweepstakes shall be final.

The grand prize to be awarded consists of a three day stay for two at the Algonquin Log Cabin Lodge on Surprise Lake in Ontario, transportation from the major airport nearest the winner's domicile to Toronto and transportation to the Algonquin Log Cabin Lodge for two people (maximum value of airfare component $ US 1,500). Stay includes two nights log cabin accommodation (double occupancy), meals, excursions including canoeing, interpretative walks and services of a wilderness guide. Trip dates subject to availability. All other expenses, including, gratuities, airport departure taxes, bar tabs, items of personal nature and other stay incidentals are the sole responsibility of the winner. Any expenses not explicitly set forth herein are the winner's responsibility. Transportation between the winner's and guest's homes and to and from the airport is the winner's and guest's responsibility. All federal, state and local taxes are the responsibility of the winner. Prize vacation and gear is not transferable or refundable and cannot be substituted, except by Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event of unavailability. No alternative prize, cash or other substitution is permitted except at Sponsor's discretion. Sponsor may award a prize of equal or greater value. Reservations confirmed, on a space available basis, with travel are to be completed by August 31, 2003. Other travel restrictions and black out dates may apply. Travel upgrades may be purchased by the winner at the winner's discretion. Travel must be confirmed and ticketed more than 21 days prior to departure and is subject to availability. Travel must occur within the dates specified. No extensions will be granted. Once the trip is confirmed, the departure date cannot be changed or winner will forfeit the vacation. Proof of citizenship or any required travel documents are the winner and guest's responsibility.

All taxes on prizes, including income taxes and any incidental expense not explicitly set forth herein are the responsibility of the winner. Employees, officers, directors of Sponsor and its advertising, promotion and publicity agencies and members of their immediate families (spouses, parents, children and siblings and their spouses) and households are not eligible. You are not a winner unless your submission is validated.

Return of the prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. By accepting the grand prize, the winner grants to Sponsor the right to use his/her name and likeness in advertising and promotion without further compensation or permission, except where prohibited by law. Winner will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and publicity/liability release that must be returned within 25 days of notification attempt or prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Travel companion of winner must sign publicity/liability releases, which must be returned with winner's documents.

All mail-in entries must be postmarked no later than 11:59 p.m. EST on June 15, 2002 and must be received no later than June 30, 2002.

Only one (1) entry per person, regardless of method of entry. In addition, only one (1) entry per email address.
Entries generated by a script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified. Entries that are incomplete, illegible or corrupted are void and will not be accepted. The Sponsor shall not be responsible for telecommunications, network, electronic, technical or computer failures of any kind, for inaccurate transcription of entry information, for any human error, or for entries that are stolen, misdirected, garbled, delayed by computer transmissions, lost, late, damaged or postage due.
By entering this contest, each participant warrants that he or she has read and agrees to abide by all contest rules and that he or she is not prohibited from participating in this context by any applicable law, statute, regulation or other appropriate authority.
All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or received.

5. DISCLAIMER
All travel and lodging is at traveler's risk. Winner and travel companion assumes all liability for any injury or damages caused or claimed to be caused by his or her participation in the contest and/or the acceptance and/or use or misuse of any prize, and release Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership, its agents, successors and assigns from any such liability. Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership and any additional prize providers and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, assigns and assumes no responsibility for any injury or damage to participants or to any other person's computer relating to, or resulting from entering or downloading materials or software in connection with these sweepstakes. Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership and those working for or on their behalf are not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications caused by the user or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this sweepstakes or by any human error, which may occur in the processing of the entries in this sweepstakes. Entry constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use winner's name, city, state, likeness and biographical information for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation except where prohibited. Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership reserves the right to cancel this sweepstakes should virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the reasonable control of Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the sweepstakes. Any entrant that attempts to tamper with the sweepstakes in any way shall be disqualified.

Sponsor reserves the right to permanently disqualify, from this Sweepstakes, any person it believes has intentionally violated these rules.
Entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor or judges, as applicable, whose decisions are final and binding in all regards. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification from this Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right to permanently disqualify from this Sweepstakes any person it believes has intentionally violated these rules.
Entrants agree that United States law will apply exclusively to the Sweepstakes and that any dispute with respect to the Sweepstakes will be resolved in the federal or state courts located in the State of New York.
